Do You Qualify for the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact? Before you begin an application to receive authorization to practice telepsychology or temporarily under PSYPACT®, it is recommended that you prequalify yourself. Please follow the steps listed below: Step 1: DETERMINE YOUR METHOD OF SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED Do you intend to provide telepsychology services or in person, face to face services? If you wish to practice telepsychology under PSYPACT, please visit the Practicing Telepsychology page of our website. If you intend to provide temporary, in person, face-to-face services under PSYPACT you will need to meet the eligibility requirements for the Temporary Authorization to Practice (TAP) which can be found below. Step 2: COMPACT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS You must meet all of the following requirements for the IPC and the TAP before applying:
STEP 3: COMPACT RULES AND DEFINITIONS Please be advised that all psychologists practicing under the authority of PSYPACT are responsible for making a self-determination of eligibility prior to applying for authorization to practice via the Compact, as well as a full understanding of the Compact rules. To complete step 3, please read the Compact Rules and Definitions. Have you read the Compact Rules and Definitions? If so, please proceed to Step 4.
STEP 4: OBTAIN AN IPC-issued by ASPPB. Application information for an IPC can be found HERE.
STEP 5: APPLICATION FOR AUTHORIZATION Once your IPC application has been approved, an email will be sent with information on renewal requirements as well as how to complete and submit your TAP application. To complete the TAP Application, please log into your PSY|PRO account and click “edit” beside the Temporary Authorization to Practice line item. This will bring you to your application checklist where you will need to click “edit” beside Home State Declaration. Please choose your home state from the drop-down menu and choose the current date for the start date. Once you complete this process, you will need to click “edit” beside Submit for Review and complete the final section of the application.
